LNK304 LinkSwitch-TN Buck Converter

The Power Integrations LNK304 LinkSwitch™-TN device family are Buck Converter ICs that provide a low component count step down solution. The LNK304 has been designed to offer a higher performing alternative when compared to linear and passive component solutions.

Applications

The LNK304 LinkSwitch buck convertor is ideal for use in appliances and timers, and for LED drivers and industrial controls.

Features

Fully integrated auto-restart for short circuit and open loop fault protection
66 kHz operation with accurate current limit
Tight tolerances and negligible temperature variation
High breakdown voltage of 700 V
Frequency jittering dramatically reduces EMI (∼10 dB)
Built-in current limit and hysteretic thermal protection
High thermal shutdown temperature (+135 °C minimum)
Consumes typically only 50/80 mW in self-powered buck topology at 115/230 V ac input with no-load (opto feedback)
Consumes typically only 7/12 mW in flyback topology with external bias at 115/230 V ac input with no-load
