Детайли за продукта

RS Pro Type K IEC Fine Wire Glassfibre Insulated Thermocouple with Miniature Plug Termination

From RS Pro a type K fine wire thermocouple temperature sensor that conforms to IEC 584-3 class 2 standards. This bare wire thermocouple temperature sensor has a durable construction along with a welded exposed junction for a fast response time. One end of this thermocouple is terminated with an IEC 584 colour coded miniature flat pin plug. The flat pair cable has 1/0.315 mm conductors and is insulated with durable silicone varnished glassfibre

How does a Thermocouple Work?

A thermocouple is a sensor used to measure temperature in a range of different processes. A thermocouple consists of two wire legs made from different metals joined together at their two ends to form two junctions. The hot, or measuring junction is connected to the body whose temperature is going to be measured. The cold junction or reference junction is connected to a body of known temperature. When the measuring junction is placed on something hot a voltage or potential difference between this and the reference junction occurs. This voltage can then be converted into a temperature measurement using thermocouple reference tables. This process is also known as the Seebeck Effect

What is a Welded Exposed Junction?

A thermocouple has a welded exposed junction when the wires are welded together but are not surrounded by an outer sheath. The ends of the wire are directly inserted into the process. This means the thermocouple has a high sensitivity and response time. Welded exposed junctions are more prone to corrosion and are recommended for measuring flowing or static non-corrosive gas temperatures

Properties of Glassfibre Insulation?

Glassfibre wire insulation is flexible with a good temperature range but does not prevent the ingress of fluids

Features and Benefits

• Welded, exposed junction for fast response times
• Glassfibre insulated flat pair cable for wide temperature range
• Conforms to IEC 584-3 class 2
• Miniature IEC flat pin plug termination for quick and easy connection
• Temperature range of -60 to +350°C (short periods up to 400°C)

Applications

The K-Type thermocouple (Nickel-Chromium / Nickel-Alumel) the most common type of thermocouple and is both accurate and flexible and reliable with a wide temperature range. Typical applications for these mineral insulated Type-K thermocouple probes include heat exchangers, power stations, brick and cement kilns, heat treatment and annealing furnaces, flues and in the glass industry
