Slide

Manufactured from spring steel and finished in zinc plate to BS 1706 Zn3 passivate to DEF 130. Ultimate Strength value 400N. This latch consists of a sliding bar assembled to a housing/mounting plate which can be riveted to a panel. The assembly engages a bush which can be rivetted or screwed to a support member. The spring action of the slide claw resists opening under vibration and shock loads.

Alternative methods of fixing bush:1 M4 rivet, 2 M4 screw and nut, 3 No. 8 round head woodscrew.

A = clearance for slide
B = panel thickness governs whether or not to use spacer (supplied) guide as follows:
Panel thickness 1·6 - 2·5mm no spacer required
Panel thickness 2·5 - 3·5mm one spacer required.
