Type K Industrial Mineral Insulated Probe, Underground Junction

Type K Thermocouples is a device which measures temperatures, it’s made up from two wires which are different materials. When these two wires are joined together, they create an electrical junction. Once the temperature changes at this junction, it created a voltage which can then be interpreted and read as a temperature. This is commonly known as the “Seebeck Effect”.

Features & Benefits

• The measuring junction is insulated from the outer sheath
• Highly flexible sheath can be formed to suit many applications
• Three year warranty
• Has a choice of 310 stainless steel which has a great corrosion and oxidation resistance to suite a wide range of processes, satisfactory operates in sulphur bearing atmospheres OR Inconel® Alloy 600 sheath which has excellent oxidation resistance of up to 1100 °C

Typical Applications

• This Type K Industrial Mineral Probe with an ungrounded junction is suitable for corrosive media, although the thermal response tends to be slower than others.
• In some typical applications, where more than one thermocouple connects to an associated instrumentation it could be essential to incorporate insulation – this is to avoid spurious signals occurring in the measuring circuits.
